Personality:

Jessica is a woman, who is highly perfectionistic in all that she does. To satisfy herself and to keep this high standard, she most time wants to do everything on her own, or with somebody, who seems to be capable of handle it as good as she does.

She is well known for her rather short temper, that might also be the reason, why many of the apprentice dragonriders try to avoid being taught by her. When they’re doing something wrong, she doesn’t even need to give them a verbal sign of her disapprovement, most time a glare of her “bird of prey - staring like” eyes speaks for itself.
It’s also no secret, that she likes to command others around and wants to be treaten special, she’s riding a very unique dragon after all. Sadly, she also tends to go over her own physical limits and doesn't like to show her own weakness in front of others. This surely is a negative trait at first, but on the other side, her allies admire her for this endurance.

Those who she considers as friends get to know her much more pleasant and charming side. She actually likes to talk and once started, it is sometimes quiet complicated to make her stop again. To call her well educated would be too much, she prefers to chit chat more, than topics with deeper meaning.
She has got a soft spot for animals and nature. As Woodelf, she sometimes feels uncomfortable in the crowded cities and would prefer to live in the woods again, far away from all this noise.

Concerning her own family, she often fails/ed in her role as mother, surely the result of her past, since she lost her own at a very young age. So Jessica loves her children... but that's already all. She always cared more for her dragon and her husband.


Backgroundstory:

Krystea was born in a small village of Woodelves, deep in the Western Forests, as youngest of four children. Her mother died from an illness some weeks after her birth, so Krys was mainly raised by her father.
As she reached the age for starting an apprenticeship, she wanted to become a huntress, but failed the test and had to join the borderguards instead. Woodelves live in a dangerous place, since these forests not only inhabit dangerous predators, they are also close to the territory of the Red Dragon Tribe. So new boardersguards are always more than welcome.

After finishing their training, all new guards got their own Wooddragon in a festive ceremony. Krysteas companion introduced herself as 'Lyra', a rather sweet and innocent looking dragoness. The two really didn't get along with each other, since Lyra was easily offended and often ran away. Most time the dragoness returned after a while, but one day she didn’t, so Krystea seached for her. The elvish girl was shocked as she finally found her dragon dead on the ground... surrounded by two Red Dragons.
Without her dragon, she was easy pray, already accepted her faith, as suddenly Aarok appeared. While Krystea thought, she would hallucinating, since Black Dragons were said to be extinct, he attacked the Reds, not for saving her in first reason. After the fight, he pitied her, for the loss of her dragoness and asked her, if she wants to accompany him on his journeys.
At first, she wasn't sure, if she really wanted to leave everything, what was dear to her, behind. But inside she already knew, that she would regret it, if she would decline his offer, so she accepted and they left the Western Woods together.
It was like a rebirth, she made a final cut to her former life with changing her elvish name to Jessica, after her idol, the human Jessica Nystana.


Both needed a shelter and ended up with offering their service to the Queen of the Earthcrawlers, Azka Ils’ Re. The wise dragoness accepted, since she believed that the last Black Dragon would surely be helpful for her kingdom. The following years were hard for them, Aarok was trained by the Earthcrawlers in physical combat, while Jessica tried to learn how to fight with swords. Different to her dragon, she was easily distracted, since she fell in love with Relan. From the first sight she was just fascinated by this Darkelf, his pale skin, the green eyes and his elegant movements.
However, it took several months until he even noticed her and replied her affection, but finally he did and they became a couple.
A few years later they even married, left the caves of the Earthcrawlers and efforded theirselves a small house near the Golden City, the capital city of the humans. In the following years they had a quiet normal family life, got two children together, traveled through Caldarah and earned money as mercenaries.


Her life made a drastical change eleven years ago, as Jessica and Aarok were on patrol over the Volcanic Fields, which are close to the territory of the Red Dragons. They were attacked by no lesser than King Mocagnarak itself, who finally wanted to kill the last son of Valrion. Aarok was able to defeat the old king, but he and Jessica were both more dead than alive afterwards. They just survived, because another patrol found and took them to a close village, where a healer cared for their wounds. Later they heard, that the Golden City was devastated by the Red Dragons, as revenge for the death of their king. Countless humans and dragons lost their life in this fight and also Relan disappeared on the battlefield.

Jessica couldn’t believe that her beloved husband would never return to her again. His corpse was not found in the city, so she waited for him. Time flied by, Relan didn’t return so far and she became desperate over the years and decided to change her life.

In present times, she is most time busy with her job as instructor of new dragonriders, but she also spends time together with her friends and takes every chance to hunt down Red Dragons alongside of Aarok.


Additional infos:

- Jessica is not bond to Aarok, she can neither read his thoughts nor will she die if he would do!

- She doesn't like to be called 'Jess' by others, since Relan always called her that way.

- She can swear vilely very good... not really fitting to a woman of her status...

- Even if 11 years passed, Jessica is still sad about the loss of her husband Relan and she highly refuses to talk about him.

- Krystea named herself after the human dragonrider Jessica Nystana, who was the first female commander of the dragonrider army. She always loved to hear stories about this woman, when she was young.

- Her family believes that she was killed by the Red Dragons.

- Jessica is not really an outstanding fighter, since Relan taught her most of his fighting skills. The only thing that makes her quiet dangerous is her experience. With 229 years, she has joined more battles in her life than most of her human companions. So she's got a huge knowledge about strategy, weapons and such.

- She is scared of ships and dark waters.

- She has a really bad sense for orientation and is lost without a map.
