...: Personality :...

Aarok is a distant and calm dragon, who just doesn't talk much, if it's not necessary. He has a rather strange sort of humor and no sense for romance. Both surely are the results of being the last of his kind. He fed up with his situation, is not sad about it anymore. So he also just tend to settle things by himself, he is not a teamplayer, rather a sort of "One man army", who loves the feeling of superiourity against others, to be something special and get admired.

There is only one he really cares about - the woodelfish woman Jessica, who he'd choosen as his rider long time ago. He always has an eye on her, even if he knows, that she's able to defend herself. And Aarok is kind of a stalker too, Jessica calls him "her second shadow" because he is most time nearby, no matter where she is.
The elf just sees him as a close friend, while Aarok has some deeper, even love-like feelings for her. But he isn't interested in an physical relationship with her, since it's just impossible... eh and Jess is already married anyway, so Aarok just decided to stay at her side as her faithful companion, until she dies or he gets killed.

Due his past, he has a deep hate against Red Dragons, no matter which age, gender or alignment. For him they're all the same and need to be slayed, as revenge for the past.


...: Backgroundstory : (... just the deadly short version)

Aarok is the last one of the Black Dragons in his homeland Caldarah, since he survived the attack of the Red Dragon tribe. He was a young child at that time and was able to escape into the near woods. There he spent most of his lifetime, was raised by a family of Thunderdragons and taught by an elder Wooddragon, until he was old enough to survive by himself.
As he left the Western Forests to start his journey, he suddenly noticed two Red Dragons, who were chasing something. Aarok attacked them immediatly. At the end of the fight he was quiet confused, as he saw their weird pray, they'd hunted before - a woodelf. It took a while for him to convince the young woman, that he would surely not want to eat her and she is not mentally insane for meeting a Black Dragon, that was believed to be extinct. And so he gained her trust and she finally introduced herself as 'Jessica', a borderguard, whos Wooddragon was just killed by the Reds. Aarok pitied her and made her the offer to stay with him.
And so they continued their journey and eventually offered their services to Azka Ils' Re, the Queen of the Earthcrawlers. ...

In current days, both are in the service of everyone who is willing to pay for their support but most time active in the service of King Thoran Dragonclaw, who is a close friend of the Family Serra.


...: Additional Information:...

- Thanks to his small wings, Aarok cannot fly for long time, especially when Jessica sits on his back, so most time he just walks.

- His scales are a good protection against physical attacks and sharp objects, only his underbelly and his tentacles are covered by thinner skin. His biggest weakness are magical attacks, he has no protection against them, but if he gets hit by magic, theres always a little chance, that his scales reflect the spell to the caster. He ist still a rather young dragon so this counter is really rare ( with his 260 years it happend around 50 times), his resistance will increase with his age.

- Aarok is completely devoted to Jessica, he would never question her word and her actions and takes over her views and opinions.

- He is jealous of every men, who dares to show interest in her, especialy of her husband Relan.

- The Thunderdragon Terzilonyr is his best friend, even if they are completely unlike.

- While other dragons love to collect gold and gems, Aarok loves to collect swords ^^.


...: Fighting style :...

In a fight, Aarok tries to kill his enemy fast to lower the risk of getting injured. He usual attacks frontal, aiming at the enemies chest or neck with the teeth or claws. Its quiet easy to avoid his first bite, if you crouch and move quick to the side, but useless when Jessica's on his back, since shes aiming the lower area in front of him. If he got his foe, it can be sure that he first lowers his bite, if the one lays dead on the ground. Begging for mercy may help, if the foe is not a Red Dragon.

He doesn’t breath fire that often, its more exhausting for him than useing the claws.
When he fights in the air, he tries to tear the membranes of his enemies to let them fall on the ground. But in general he tries to avoid air battles, since he's a very very bad flyer and slow in movement there.
